april book report.
I didn't read as many books as last month, but I'm pretty happy that I managed to read three. #thankgodforaudiobooks
She's Not There by Joy Fielding / This was a book club pick. When I suggested it, I told my friends that I've read most of Joy Fielding's books and some of them are amazing-oh-my-goodness-what's-gonna-happen and some of them are just okay. This one was just okay. At our next meeting, I told them not to give up on her books though, and suggested Charley's Web.
Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg / Another book club pick! We actually just chose it last week, but because I listened to this one, I got through it quickly. It helped that it was a really good book. It's so full of practical advice and personal examples; I loved it. Can't wait to discuss it at the next book club meeting.
Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee / It breaks my heart to say this, but I really didn't like it. I gave it only one star on Goodreads :( I loved To Kill a Mockingbird, so I was really looking forward to this, but it was a disappointment. It just didn't make sense to me—the plot or the characters. I read the whole thing because I hate not finishing a book and I kept hoping it would get better. It didn't. Nothing happens! Summary: Read TKAM, skip GSAW.
What have you read and loved lately? I'm always looking for suggestions!
P.S. More book reports.
