I feel overwhelmed a lot. Overwhelmed about important decisions that I have to make in the next year. Overwhelmed about the future. Overwhelmed by my emotions. Overwhelmed by newscasts.

What can I say, I'm an anxious person.

I also feel overwhelmed by all of the things I want to do. Overwhelmed by all of the places I want to see. Overwhelmed by all of the books I want to read. Overwhelmed by all of the songs in my iTunes. Overwhelmed by all of the TV shows and movies I want to watch.

There are so many fantastic, wonderful, breathtakingly beautiful things in this world and I don't want to miss any of them. There is so much to learn.

I know I can't see, read, listen to, enjoy, experience everything, but I want to. I don't want to miss anything.

Is anyone else overwhelmed?

I wrote the above back in December and let it sit as a draft since then. I suppose I just had to get it out and didn't feel like writing in my journal. However, as my departure for China draws nearer, I'm experiencing some of the same feelings. I'm excited (and a bit nervous), but mostly I'm just thinking of all I want (and need) to do before I leave. Buying odds and ends, packing, storing things, paperwork, visiting people, and yes, even things as mundane as watching movies and reading books.
