I smiled when I read my brother's tweet this morning: "Oh, it's Friday? Well it's about time!" I have a feeling he's not the only one feeling that way.
Here are some of the things that made me happy this week:
+ I walked out of my house Tuesday night and took a deep breath. As I inhaled, I thought, 'I smell lilacs; everything's going to be okay.'
+ Going to Wing Night with friends. Serious and hilarious conversations are good things in my book.
+ As Melissa and I walked to the pub, I lifted my arms and felt like twirling. I turned to Melissa and said, "Isn't this great? The air feels thick with possibility!" Melissa smiled, "I love it when you're like this!" I love it when I'm like that, too.
+ I began Wednesday by going for a run. It was so nice to clear my head and get moving. Instant mood booster. (Confession: It had been almost two months since my last run.)
+ While I was running, a man yelled, "Looking good! Keep going!" It was at a moment when I was thinking I'd stop so I was glad to have a little extra motivation.
+ I started the third season of Friday Night Lights.
+ Although I should have been completing homework or job applications, I spent a bit of yesterday afternoon enjoying the sun in my backyard.
+ I spent the evening yesterday with Tiff. We sat on her deck and ate tuna melts. (P.S. I think tuna melts are highly underrated. They're delicious!) She gave me so much advice about relationships and job searches. We also had a very honest conversation about our friendship. And that's how I know it's the real deal.
+ Sherry and I spent this morning at Starbucks. Working with a friend can be better than working alone. Especially when there are lattes involved.
What made you happy this week?
