This week was filled with a lot of smiling. Seriously. So many smiles!
+ I exchanged Christmas gifts with three friends. Everyone's gifts were so thoughtful and many of them smelled oh so good, like the lip scrub, above.
+ One of my students said, "Mrs. Greer, I always wanted to go to school with a teacher as nice as you."
+ Two of the other teachers told me I was "a natural with the kids."
+ Someone put a bottle of Winter Candy Apple soap in the staff washroom at school. It smells amazing and doesn't make my already-dry hands worse!
+ Melissa and I made a donation to the local food bank. (It was an activity from our advent calendar.)
+ I shoveled the driveway. That might not sound happy, but trust me, it was. I'm just not sure why.
+ Alex came over for supper last night and he brought food. We watched an episode of The West Wing.
+ I had a dance party for one in my living room. I may or may not have used a water bottle as a microphone.
+ I found out yesterday that I won the giveaway from Day 3 of The 12 Days of Chookooloonks! Which means more rad art is on its way to me! How cool is that!?
+ I fell asleep to the sound of rain last night.
+ Today is the students' Christmas concert. I've been told the gym will be packed so the teachers just stand in the hallway. That's okay though, because I had a front row seat at both practices. And I cried. That's right, I cried! Tears rolled down my face at the first practice and I teared up at the second because they were just that good! Almost 300 kids singing their hearts out. If that's not happy, I don't know what is.
+ I'm visiting my Nan this evening to celebrate her birthday, which was yesterday.
I told you there were a lot of smiles! What made you smile this week?
Sometimes shoveling the driveway is the happiest of activities.
ReplyDeleteIt was a remote, not a water bottle :p
ReplyDeleteCara, I'm so glad you think so.
ReplyDeleteAlex, I used a water bottle and THEN a remote.
